Words for you...

via

To not be afraid of their thoughts
Grow up to understand the man across the street dressed in polyester
Deal the privilege out
Do not assume to crush the beauty of a city unto anothers majestic hopes
or compost the peaceful content of the town with your needs
Breath light with intent
Step with all your weight into the earth
Your perfect body
Take care of this
So there is a place to sit your bones
To view birds through the window

And lift cups to your mouth

Thoughts for you...

"The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent; but if we can come to terms with this indifference and accept the challenges of life within the boundaries of death — however mutable man may be able to make them — our existence as a species can have genuine meaning and fulfillment. However vast the darkness, we must supply our own light." Stanley Kubrick

The work of Ditte Haarlov Johnsen is courageous and overwhelming (in both efforts and subjects). Simply put, powerful images and powerful people.

If I were a...

1. Hell yea I would get these shoes I have been eyeing for about a year!
2. And this pretty dress.
3. Then head over to Hollywood Forever Cemetery to watch this flick (my all time favorite...as a 16 year old ;)
4. And dream away the night, heading back here to look at the stars.

Typography of tears...

How often do you cry?  I aways think of crying as both a terrible and terrific thing about being human. Photographer Rose-Lynn Fisher photographer over 100 tears wondering if tears of joy, tears of pain, tears of sadness  emulate different patterns of this human expression.

What makes a good life...

eudaimonia: a life of activity governed by reason

Humans, me, spend SO much time thinking about how to be happy.  We read self-help books, we change jobs, we move across the country, we lose or gain weight, we drink wine, we take walks, we think and think and think about how to get to that place.  At times, it seems almost as though we have lost the ability to actually be happy within the "search."

A great read on the subject here.

Some things and things...

“A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.” Yoko Ono

I really believe this.  In reflection can dreams feel as tangible as memories.  So if you fly to Fiji on a kitty cat in your dreams, maybe, somewhere you really have.  X
Here is to a wonderful weekend of dreams and realities and love and space.  In the meantime...

I think this weekend might call for my favorite summer, be bad cocktail.  Maybe I will try this one! via .

Oops no she didn't.  Oops, yes I did.

I have a ridiculous amazing amount of dried chamomile that good friends brought for me from Israel.  It's too hot to drink and I can;t seem to get on top of making Iced Tea, so I think I've got just the idea! Cold chamomile compress anyone?

I love Elizabeth Moss and I love films with subtle atmospheric terror. I want to see this!

LISTEN!  I am not a huge GP fan.  The things she says and posts kill me a little inside.  And her total public unawareness of her privilege yikes.  I thought people paid publicists to take care of that kinda of stuff! Anyway I DO love the recipes in her cookbook.  And this one... I just love making a huge batch and eating all week.

Speaking of beautiful terror.  I love the work of Ana Teresa Barboza.

Finally, this weeks report on how the earth, moon, sun and tides
affect your day.

Words for you...

180 is something someone told me a long time ago
when I was learning the truth
still learning
when I did not know circles could not hold the night
and gravity could not breath in the sea

it was a sharp thing, a line not a curve in a subject failed

I am always turning 180 to find myself
and I  look everywhere
and I am not
and I am
with every loss less of myself

I have learned that circles contain everything in fact
every drop of water, every piece of love
even the night with my eyes made in the shape make a beautiful whole

and gravity
I am not sure
I have learned anything
because I can breath in the sea
under the water I can choose to breath into oblivion
peaceful finding where the holes of my heart - those pieces - have been missing
with that love

and I understand nothing now or then not later.

Floating in pools on a Monday...

It's Monday.  And though we are all "back" to our computers and or job, it is still important to dream. Close your eyes and where else would you be?  Could you be?  Today I dream of simply floating in a pool and staring up ant the sky and trees.  One of the simpler pleasures in life.

Though these pools might not be simple to get to, they are simple in that they are natural and given to us from sweet mother earth.
